In 2021, from my home in Oracle, AZ, I began to create abstract fluid art. Although simple in the beginning, I began to incorporate the desert landscape into my art that mirrored the vibrant energy I felt and these works became living centerpieces.
My mother from the Netherlands inspired my curiosity in everything creative from my early youth. I always wanted to be by her side and now she rests in peace and I continue to feel close to her and her creative energy as I use her brushes, stir her paints, sew on her machines and look back with so much admiration.
My collectors value the multi-dimensional textures and organic flow of my pieces, often highlighted by the ground, earth and glass.
In addition to my personal practice, I lead immersive workshops for aspiring artists. I guide students through the tactile process of manipulating fluid media, helping them connect with their own creative essence while mastering the balance of color and movement. This was my first piece of abstract fluid art which featured the dynamic swirling patterns of "The Wave" Rock Formation we had just visited. I wanted these earthy tones of brown, white, and muted green. The painting displays the type of organic, flowing shapes and distinct cell-like formations that is still like my work currently.
The Earth Awakening Collection
This was my first art exhibition in 2026 when I entered three pieces to be showcased in a juried exhibition at Roche Community Gallery’s Ventana community space. I had hoped to participate, but as a new artist, didn't think it would happen. Then I received a response from the curator wanting to exhibit all three pieces. Some sold the first night and they wanted more.
